Freemont Floating Home

The home is a combination of three building blocks that merge in complex intersections. The primary block comprises the entry and the main living space. Two additional blocks on either side contain the kitchen and bedroom/bath and office areas. To create spatial interest the walls of the main space slope dramatically and blur the intersection of spaces. This also allows the home to feel much larger than it’s approximate 900 sf.

The materials palette is a combination of wood and steel. A black stairway is tucked into the corner of the living space and carries the eye up to the loft area in a serpentine manner.
