The home is located on a very small lot on the shore of Lake Washington, with an East facing orientation.Our Client wanted to maximize the connection to the lake, and enjoy the experience of being "on" the lakewhile still feeling warm and secure inside.

We designed a "removable" wall across the entire front of the home that could be easily thrown open. Because of the home's proximity to the shoreline this created the feeling of being on a deck or dock on the lake. While at the same time being able to enjoy the experience year around. All the spaces in the home are oriented to this experience.

The external materials were chosen to enhance the structure's connection to the shoreline and at the same timebeing nearly maintainence free in a harsh northwest environment.
